Ralph’s Ad W/E 08/23/11

Serves 3-4 people

Dinner:

Chicken Wonderful

1 can Campbell’s Cream of Chicken Soup  (.87 ea.)    
     CPN: 3/6 SS  .40/4 (qualifies for Save $5 offer)
1 Whole Chicken .69/lb.  (5 lbs. $3.45)
1 Fresh Romaine, Red or Green Lettuce ($1.49 ea.)
2 Tomatoes on the vine 1.49 lb.  ($1.49)
3 c. cooked rice (est. $1.50 – not in wkly ad)
     CPN: 5/1 RP  .75/1

Cut chicken into 8 pieces, brown all 8 pieces until nice and golden brown. Open can of soup, pour into medium size bowl, add 1/2 c. of water or milk, mix.  Place browned chicken in baking dish, pour soup mixture over chicken. Cover with foil. Place into oven at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Remove foil for the
last 20 minutes.  Serve over cooked rice.  While chicken is cooking put the lettuce and tomatoes together for the salad and the cook rice.

.87 X 1 = $.87 + 3.45 (5 lb chkn)= $4.32 + $1.49 = $5.81 + $1.49 = $7.30 + .75 = $8.05  TOTAL 

Dessert:   Nana’s Applicious Apples’s  (Thanks Mom)

Braeburn Apples .99 lb (2 lbs.) $1.98
2 tbsp butter/margarine (butter is soooooo much better)
Cinnamon

Peel apples, cut into thick slices. Place slices into bowl with a small amount of water. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and place into microwave for 2 minutes. Check apple slices for doneness. They should have the slightest crunch to them. Keep the syrup like liquid at the bottom of the bowl. Let cool slightly. Spinkle apples with cinnamon to taste. Melt butter/margarine in frying pan. Pour apples and syrup into frying pan. Saute until golden brown.  Serve hot. YUMMY!!!
