Cherry Cobbler is my idea of a summertime dessert. The first cobblers weren’t desserts at all. The early American settlers were forced to improvise their recipes from home and “cobbled” together other dishes with whatever ingredients they could find.
Cherries were plentiful in the summer months. Cherries soon became an ingredient which found their way into cobblers. Later, cherry cobbler became the perfect name for a bungled cherry pie. Try the cobbler recipe below.
